Neil Leyton: Metacognitive Apperceptions |
|
In 2008, instead of doing the by-now twice traditional yearly x-mas release that started two years ago with the "Again" covers album, followed by the success of "A Reckoning..." last year (which went on to achieve a wider release worldwide via Finetunes Digital and the physical third pressing via Kunaki), this year Neil Leyton presents "Metacognitive Apperceptions".
Described as a New Year's, rather than X-mas, album, it opens the door to more positive thematic muses than the dark explorations on 'A Reckoning'. For now, it can be ordered exclusively via www.fwmusicstore.co.uk Sonically, this is a home-recorded electric release, a 10-song collection of all new material. "It deals with my leaving London and having a clear conscience over the past. If people wanna paint me the bad guy, then say goodnight to the bad guy. At the end of the day all I've ever done is try and help people be creative. O, and one more thing: I truly despise x-mas. Not just because I am an atheist, but because of the sheer capitalist pressure of it all. Holidays, true holidays, should be free times, without stresses or pressures. I am sick of society. Your society makes me sad. These days what I seek in life is peace and quiet... solitude to think about the past and learn from our mistakes. All that and a little guitar feedback here and there, of course!"
Watch for Metacognitve Apperceptions on Amie St. and LastFM in the new year. FW Music Store will ship out orders the first week of January. Happy 2009 everybody! |

Introducing... The Stereo Satanics! |
|
Stereo Satanics. Every true rock n roll fan will one day recognize these glam-punk fashionistas from small town Balingen, Germany. Ralph on Fyre (Guitar, Vocals), Dan Shandog (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Black Matze (Bass, Backing Vocals) J. Wilde (Drums) worship at the altar of Lou Reed, Nikki Sudden and the great unspoken truth that is rock n roll music. This is post-historic Garage-Punk with its roots in the 60s and 70s, re-invigorated for today. And does the world need the Stereo Satanics? More than ever, the answer is yes. The fact it’s taken anyone three albums (Surrounded by Ghosts, coming in October on Fading Ways, is their third, following “Pirate Love” and “Whole lotta nothin’”) to even notice is obviously evidence of their greatness.
Join the Satanic Army (that is their street team and supporter fan base) today, and come out to see the band play live. All your doubts will erode as though Johnny Thunders in his heyday hath appeared before you. Or Nikki. Or Elvis. After all, this is truly a band Surrounded by Ghosts.
"Surrounded by Ghosts" will be available on CD and LP. Please visit The Stereo Satanics online at www.stereosatanics.de and their MySpace. We hereby welcome our newest German friends to the Fading Ways family - the more Ghosts the wiser. |
